The Saudi Arabian Drilling Academy (SADA) has emerged as a leader in hands-on training for the upstream energy sector. Established in 2016, SADA’s mission is to support Saudi Vision 2030 by delivering high-quality education and vocational training for drilling professionals. This commitment aligns with the Kingdom’s goals of sustainable development and economic diversification, ensuring a skilled workforce to meet the growing demands of the energy sector.

    State-of-the-Art Facilities and Practical Training

Spanning an impressive 72,000 square meters, SADA’s campus is a hub of advanced training facilities. It features a fully equipped training rig, operational wells, comprehensive workshops, sophisticated simulators, and high-tech laboratories. These resources enable trainees to gain invaluable hands-on experience in actual rig and intervention well operations, a distinctive feature that sets SADA apart from other training institutions. This practical approach ensures that graduates are well-prepared for real-world challenges in the energy industry.

    Diverse and Specialised Diplomas

SADA offers a range of specialised diplomas designed to equip trainees with the skills needed to excel in the upstream energy sector. These include Drilling Operator, Services Operator, Drilling HSE, Drilling Chemical Lab, and Drilling Fluids diplomas. Each program is meticulously crafted to cover essential aspects of drilling operations, safety, and chemical handling. Since its inception, over 1,000 trainees have successfully completed these programs, each one ready to meet and exceed the industry’s rigorous standards. The academy’s emphasis on career progression and lifelong learning ensures that graduates are not only adept but also adaptable to the evolving demands of the energy sector.

A Vision for Leadership and Excellence

Our goal is to develop not just skilled professionals, but also forward-thinking leaders in the upstream energy sector. SADA’s hands-on training, coupled with our state-of-the-art facilities, plays a crucial role in achieving this vision,” said Faisal H. Al-Daihani, Managing Director of SADA. His leadership underscores the academy’s commitment to excellence and innovation in drilling training.

    Strategic Partnerships and Future Goals

SADA’s success is bolstered by its strategic partnerships with key industry stakeholders, including Saudi Aramco, the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC), the Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF), and 29 other prominent industry leaders. These collaborations are instrumental in shaping SADA’s training programs, ensuring they align with current industry standards and future trends. The involvement of these partners enhances the employability of SADA graduates and supports the academy’s mission of delivering top-quality education.

Looking to the future, SADA aims to expand its impact even further. The academy is dedicated to setting new benchmarks in industrial education and skill-based training, striving to become a global leader in lifelong learning and development. As SADA continues to innovate and grow, its graduates will play a pivotal role in advancing the future of the energy industry.
