SpeechyAI: A Year of Perfecting Wedding Speeches

Innovative Tool Empowers Wedding Speakers Worldwide

As of 19 October, SpeechyAI proudly marks its first anniversary, having supported thousands of wedding speakers globally in crafting their wedding speeches. By combining cutting-edge artificial intelligence (ChatGPT-4.0) with the seasoned expertise of Speechy writers, SpeechyAI merges technological efficiency with professional speechwriting skills.

    Impressive Milestones and Statistics

Over the past year, SpeechyAI has achieved remarkable success, with more than 1,000 units sold since its launch. The current price stands at £49, but this will increase following the anticipated GPT-5 update and a revamp of SpeechyAI, projected for spring 2025. In contrast, Speechy’s bespoke speech-writing service is priced at £495, while its speech templates are available for £29.

Interestingly, 96% of SpeechyAI users are male, a significant increase compared to the 78% of speech templates bought by men and 72% of bespoke speeches delivered by men. This trend indicates that women may be slower to adopt AI tools in this particular sphere. The primary purchasers hail from the US, UK, Ireland, Australia, and South Africa.

SpeechyAI serves a diverse range of roles, encompassing ‘nearlyweds’ (brides and grooms), their parents, and friends. The most common users of the tool are currently best men, followed by grooms and fathers.

    Expertise Behind SpeechyAI

What sets SpeechyAI apart from other wedding speech generators is its foundation built on professional speechwriting. The Speechy team boasts a five-star Trustpilot rating, and their advice has been featured in prominent publications, including The New York Times, Forbes, and Grazia. The team has collaborated with notable figures, including Scott Mills of the BBC, who recently shared his experience with Speechy while preparing for his wedding speech.

    Merging Technology and Tradition

SpeechyAI was developed in partnership with Digital Wonderlab, focusing on integrating user feedback to enhance its capabilities continually. Founder Heidi Ellert-McDermott stated, “As the world continues to explore the use of Artificial Intelligence, we identified its potential for humour early in the process.”

With backgrounds in TV scriptwriting and comedy, the Speechy team saw the AI’s ability to create witty content, even if it initially struggled with full speech writing. Heidi expressed concern about AI diminishing the need for professional speechwriters but acknowledged the importance of adapting offerings to the digital age.

A Place for Both AI and Human Touch

One year after its launch, the Speechy team believes there is ample space for both AI tools and professional speechwriters. While AI can provide a solid foundation, professional speechwriters bring a personal touch and adaptability that is often essential for effective communication.

Heidi remarked, “By training SpeechyAI with our writing techniques, we are able to provide speakers with a more cost-effective solution for creating compelling and original speeches.”

    Enhancements and Future Developments

Initially, SpeechyAI provided a single speech for users to edit, but feedback indicated a need for improvement. In response, the editing feature was removed, and now SpeechyAI generates three distinct speeches for users to choose from, allowing for more tailored outcomes.

Looking ahead, with the launch of GPT-5, SpeechyAI plans to introduce a revamped editing tool to enhance user experience further. The team aims to simplify the process of customising speeches, incorporating personal anecdotes, and adjusting tone. Additionally, they hope to expand offerings to include options for joint wedding speeches and birthday speeches, catering to a broader range of speech-writing needs.
