Bevvy.com, the groundbreaking whisky app, has successfully secured $1.3 million in its latest funding round. This latest investment, spearheaded by some of Scotland’s most celebrated rugby icons, including Pierre Schumann, Duhan van Der Merwe, Hamish Watson, Ben Healy, and Magnus Bradbury, has valued the business at over $17 million. This funding round also attracted a notable six-figure investment from a U.S.-based investor recognised for his influence in both the sports and whisky investment sectors.

    Transforming the Whisky Experience

Founded in 2021 by Laurie Black and Lucas Heron, Bevvy has revolutionised the way whisky enthusiasts connect, discover, and appreciate whisky. The app has garnered attention from users in over 70 countries, establishing itself as a leading platform in the whisky community. The recent funding round, described as a ‘stretch’ round, showcases the growing interest in Bevvy’s innovative approach to whisky culture and appreciation. With a cap table that now includes prominent figures from the sports and whisky industries, Bevvy is poised for significant growth.

    Ambitious Roadmap for Future Growth

The new capital will support Bevvy’s ambitious roadmap, primarily focusing on enhancing user experience and expanding features to engage its rapidly growing user base. With the funding secured, Bevvy aims to solidify its position as the leading global platform for whisky enthusiasts, providing users with enriched resources, exclusive content, and personalised tools designed to elevate their whisky journey.

In the course of 2024, Bevvy’s YouTube channel has emerged as the largest in the global whisky niche, amassing over 1 million subscribers. This impressive growth reflects the app’s commitment to educating and engaging whisky lovers through various digital platforms and showcases its innovative content strategies. Looking ahead, the company plans to open a Series A funding round in the latter part of 2025, aiming to attract further investment to fuel its expansion.

    A Unique Global Platform

Laurie Black, co-founder and Head of Whisky at Bevvy, expressed his excitement about the new investors. “We are excited to welcome this group of investors, whose passion for whisky and dedication to our vision of becoming a global leader in this space will aid us in developing Bevvy into a truly distinctive platform worldwide,” he remarked. “This funding represents a crucial milestone for Bevvy as we enhance our efforts to cater to the expanding whisky community.”

    Innovative Features for Whisky Lovers

With a mission to blend digital innovation with whisky heritage, Bevvy’s latest app updates include exclusive tasting guides, interactive experiences, and community features that allow users to explore, rate, and discuss their favourite whiskies. A social element is gaining significant traction as well, facilitating greater in-app connections between whisky consumers. As Bevvy continues to expand, it remains dedicated to being the go-to resource for whisky discovery and culture, appealing to everyone from seasoned aficionados to curious newcomers.

    Looking to the Future

The growth of Bevvy signals a vibrant future for the whisky community, as more consumers seek out resources to enhance their understanding and enjoyment of whisky. This investment round not only strengthens Bevvy’s financial foundation but also enhances its ability to deliver innovative solutions to whisky lovers worldwide. The continued collaboration with influential figures in sports and whisky will undoubtedly help Bevvy further solidify its place at the forefront of whisky appreciation and culture.
