Not Suitable for Work Cast Real-Life Relationships Revealed

Hulu’s Not Suitable for Work cast has arrived with plenty of off-screen intrigue to match the on-screen drama. The show follows five twenty-something friends living in Manhattan who are all striving to make it big at work, and the ensemble assembled to bring them to life includes some names well worth knowing.

    The Show Behind the Cast

According to Teen Vogue, the series was created and executive-produced by Mindy Kaling alongside showrunner Charlie Grandy. Grandy’s credits are hard to argue with: The Office, The Mindy Project, and The Sex Lives of College Girls all sit on his résumé. That pedigree goes a long way to explaining why Not Suitable for Work carries the same sharp, character-driven energy that made those shows land.

Not Suitable for Work Cast: Who Is Dating Whom

Ella Hunt is firmly off the market. After six years of low-key dating, she married musician Thomas Bartlett in January 2026. Bartlett, who also records as Doveman, has worked with Florence + the Machine, St. Vincent, and Taylor Swift. Not a bad CV for the person you bring home.

Avantika Vandanapu, meanwhile, has never publicly spoken about her dating life. She appears to be single at the moment, or at least keeping things well away from the cameras. Either way, she is letting the work do the talking.

Jack Martin is in a relationship with Lili Reinhart, and by all accounts things are going very well. The pair have been together for over three years. At the Not Suitable for Work premiere, Martin was asked about Reinhart and did not hold back. ‘I love her more than anything,’ he told ET, adding, ‘I’m grateful for her literally every day. She’s the actual kindest person I’ve ever met.’ That is a public declaration most people would take.

Will Angus, the Almost Friday Media member in the cast, is not currently in a public relationship. Whether that means he is single or simply private about it is another matter entirely.

Nicholas Duvernay is dating fellow actor Jazlyn Martin. The exact start of their relationship is unclear, but the two made their red carpet debut together at the Young Hollywood Prom in January 2024.

Jay Ellis rounds out the cast’s relationship rundown on the most settled note of all. He and Nina Seničar married in July 2022 after more than seven years of dating. The couple share two children, Nora and Noa.

Why the Cast Makes the Show Worth Watching

The Not Suitable for Work cast pulls together performers from some genuinely varied corners of recent screen work. Ella Hunt comes from Dickinson, Avantika Vandanapu from Mean Girls and Pretty Lethal, and Nicholas Duvernay from White Lotus. On paper, that mix should not necessarily cohere. In practice, the Kaling and Grandy combination has a strong track record of making exactly that kind of ensemble click.

The show is streaming now on Hulu, with the full first season available to watch.

Graeme Pallister spent fifteen years in operations management across the North East before he started writing about the businesses that kept the region running. He came up through logistics at a mid-sized haulage firm on the Team Valley, moved into procurement at an engineering outfit near the Tyne, and ended up running supply chain for a renewables contractor during the offshore wind build-out. He left the corporate side in 2021 and started covering North East business because most of the people writing about it had never seen the inside of a Gateshead warehouse at six in the morning. He writes about manufacturing, construction, logistics, and the firms between the Tyne and the Tees that rarely make the nationals but employ half the region. Graeme lives in Jesmond with his wife and two lurchers. He thinks the phrase "levelling up" should have been retired in 2022, and that anybody who describes Newcastle as "up and coming" has not been paying attention.
