    Innovative Installation Enhances Operational Efficiency

StrongPoint, a leader in retail technology focused on streamlining store and supply chain processes, has successfully installed the world’s first AutoStore™ Multi-Temperature Solution™ featuring a frozen zone. This groundbreaking system has been deployed for Haugaland Storhusholdning, part of the Norwegian food distribution group DLVRY, in Sveio, Norway.

A Commitment to Safety and Efficiency

This innovative frozen solution greatly boosts our operational efficiency and fosters a safer working environment for our employees, stated Oskar Kirkeleit, CEO of Haugaland Storhusholdning. The installation is tailored for optimal food distribution, ensuring that operations run smoothly while prioritising staff welfare. By implementing this system, Haugaland Storhusholdning aims to meet the growing demand for frozen goods in a market that increasingly values speed and reliability.

Jacob Tveraabak, CEO of StrongPoint, shared his excitement about this historic installation: “We take immense pride in being the first to implement an AutoStore solution with a frozen zone, now an integral part of our customer’s daily operations. Collaborating closely with MTG Technologies, our customer, and other partners to develop the software, system, and operational protocols has been a rewarding journey. Today, we celebrate the launch of a fully operational site that meets our high standards for quality and efficiency.”

    Revolutionising Grocery Operations

Parth Joshi, Chief Product Officer at AutoStore, expressed his enthusiasm regarding the system going live, saying, “The Multi-Temperature Solution will revolutionise grocery operations by facilitating safer and more efficient retrieval of frozen inventory. With two additional Multi-Temperature Solutions currently in development, we eagerly anticipate the general rollout in Q1 2025.”

    Strategic Partnerships for Innovation

“We are proud to partner with AutoStore in supporting StrongPoint to deliver this pioneering Multi-Temperature Solution with a frozen zone for Haugaland Storhusholdning,” stated Paul Edvin Bersaas, CEO of MTG Technologies. “This inaugural installation marks a significant leap forward, and we are excited to support the teams behind this innovative solution as we work together to shape the future of automated warehouse technology.”

    Multi-Temperature Solution Capabilities

The Multi-Temperature Solution allows for multiple temperature zones within a single AutoStore cube, efficiently catering to both frozen and chilled environments. It maintains temperature ranges from -25°C in the frozen section to +6°C in the cooled areas. The system’s design enables the picking of frozen products in a chilled environment, thus reducing operator exposure to extreme temperatures and improving their working conditions.

This innovative technology is set to enhance operational speed and efficiency in managing frozen inventory, promising significant benefits for retailers and consumers alike. By integrating automation into their supply chain, retailers can expect reduced waste, lower operational costs, and a more sustainable approach to inventory management.

Expanding Capabilities and Integrating Further Advancements

As StrongPoint continues to innovate within the retail technology sector, the successful implementation of the Multi-Temperature Solution marks just the beginning. Future projects will focus on expanding capabilities and integrating further advancements in automation and artificial intelligence to support the ever-evolving demands of the grocery sector.
