HURGHADA, Egypt. Rixos Hotels Egypt has secured seven titles at the World Travel Awards Africa Gala Ceremony 2026, a result that placed its Egyptian properties among the most decorated on the continent this year. The ceremony took place on 28 August 2026 in Zanzibar, Tanzania.
The seven wins were spread across the brand’s portfolio in Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada and Alexandria, spanning categories that ranged from family and beach resorts to luxury villas and heritage accommodation. Guests can view the full collection of properties recognised on the night through Rixos Hotels and its Egypt destination pages.
A Broad Sweep Across Egypt’s Coast and Cities
Rather than concentrating in a single category, the awards reflected strength across very different guest experiences, from an all-inclusive adults-only resort on the Red Sea to a heritage hotel in Alexandria. The recognition covered water park attractions, family stays, beachfront resorts and private luxury villas alike.
The seven honours awarded to Rixos Hotels Egypt were as follows:
- Africa’s Leading Water Park 2026, Aqua Park, Rixos Premium Seagate, Egypt
- Egypt’s Leading All-Inclusive Resort 2026, Rixos Sharm El Sheikh Adults Only 18+
- Egypt’s Leading Beach Resort 2026, Rixos Premium Magawish Suites & Villas
- Egypt’s Leading Family Resort 2026, Rixos Premium Seagate
- Egypt’s Leading Heritage Hotel 2026, Rixos Montaza Alexandria
- Egypt’s Leading Luxury Hotel Villa 2026, Premium Villa @ Club Prive by Rixos Sharm El Sheikh
- Egypt’s Leading Resort 2026, Rixos Premium Magawish Suites & Villas
Recognition for the Teams Behind the Properties
Rixos Premium Magawish Suites & Villas featured twice on the list, taking both the leading beach resort and leading resort titles, while Rixos Premium Seagate accounted for two further honours through its family resort recognition and its water park attraction.
Reacting to the results, Mr. Erkan Yildirim, Managing Director of Rixos Hotels Egypt, said:
“We are extremely proud to receive seven World Travel Awards. This recognition reflects the dedication of our teams and our continued commitment to delivering exceptional and memorable guest experiences. We sincerely thank our guests and partners for their trust and support.”
The World Travel Awards, established in 1993, are widely regarded within the tourism sector as a benchmark of excellence, with winners determined through votes cast by industry professionals and the travelling public. The Africa gala forms part of a global programme that culminates each year in a world ceremony.
Full results from this year’s regional event are published by the World Travel Awards. For Rixos Hotels Egypt, the seven-title haul reinforces the position of its Red Sea and Alexandria properties as leading destinations within the country’s hospitality market.
