The Slow Horses season 6 release is almost here: the first episode lands on Apple TV+ on Wednesday, 16 September 2026, and the six-episode run wraps up on 21 October. Here’s everything you need to know before it drops.
When and how to watch Slow Horses season 6
Apple TV+ follows a weekly release model, so no bingeing the lot in one go. A new episode of Slow Horses arrives each Wednesday from 16 September through to the finale on 21 October. Episodes go live at midnight ET, though Apple TV+ sometimes makes them available from 9pm ET the night before, so it’s worth checking early if you’d rather not wait.
Based on Yahoo Entertainment, Jack Lowden is back for season 6 alongside Gary Oldman, who returns as Jackson Lamb, the deadpan, difficult-to-love head of Slough House. Kristin Scott Thomas reprises her role as Diana Taverner, the sharp and calculating MI5 chief whose decisions set the season’s central conflict in motion.
The new series draws from Mick Herron‘s novels Joe Country and Slough House. According to the Apple TV+ synopsis, the story follows the Slow Horses on the run as Taverner embroils them all in a fatally high-stakes game of retaliation and revenge. Given where season 5 left things, that setup lands with some weight.
Full Slow Horses season 6 episode schedule
Six episodes, six weeks. Here are the exact dates so you don’t miss a drop:
Episode 1 (‘Circle of Life’) 16 September 2026
Episode 2 (‘Daddy Issues’) 23 September 2026
Episode 3 (‘Resurrection’) 30 September 2026
Episode 4 (‘Lost and Found’) 7 October 2026
Episode 5 (‘Sayonara’) 14 October 2026

The finale title, ‘Judgment Day’, does a lot of the promotional work on its own. If the show holds to form, expect the last episode to move fast and leave very little comfortable.
What the Slow Horses season 6 release means for fans
The Slow Horses season 6 release continues what has become one of the more dependable drama runs on streaming. The show adapts Herron’s Slough House novels, which follow a team of disgraced ex-MI5 officers stuck in a dead-end London office, given cases nobody else wants. Lamb runs the operation with minimal enthusiasm and maximum competence, and the mix of dry humour and genuine tension is what keeps the series sharp.
Taverner has always been the wild card, a figure who operates at a level where loyalty and self-interest become difficult to separate. With Kristin Scott Thomas in the role and the season’s plot built around her driving the Slow Horses into a revenge-and-retaliation spiral, season 6 looks like it puts her front and centre in a way previous series only hinted at.
Lowden’s return adds another thread worth watching. His character has consistently operated somewhere between the institutional MI5 world and Slough House, and that tension tends to produce some of the show’s better scenes.
The first episode of Slow Horses season 6, ‘Circle of Life’, streams from 16 September 2026 on Apple TV+.
