How Post Malone and Christy Lee got here
The pair were first linked in early 2025. TMZ reported that Post Malone and Christy Lee were spotted in Rome in January 2025, and Gabriel NY notes they were also seen together in Paris around the same period. A fan then caught them getting cosy at a local bar a couple of months after Rome, which did a decent job of confirming things.
It did not run entirely smooth from there. In June 2025, sources with direct knowledge told TMZ that the pair had called it quits, having split a month earlier. An insider said at the time that it was ‘unclear whether the pair remains on friendly terms.’ The timeline of how they found their way back to each other has not been made public, but the Utah proposal on 19 August made the outcome clear enough.
Friends and loved ones started posting on Instagram almost immediately, and fan accounts quickly compiled the highlights, including shots of a very large diamond on Christy’s finger.
The engagement ring drawing serious attention
Two jewellery experts gave Cosmopolitan their assessments of what Christy Lee is now wearing on her finger, and neither came in cheap.
Olivia Landau, founder of Blue Nile’s The Clear Cut, described it as appearing to be ‘a 10-15 carat elongated oval set in a delicate split shank yellow gold ring,’ estimating a potential cost of $1 million to $2 million. Gabriel NY puts the diamond estimate wider, suggesting it could be in the 15-to-25-carat range.
Nilesh Rakholia, founder of Abelini, went further on the price. ‘Depending on the exact cut, color, clarity and provenance, I would estimate a high-quality natural diamond of this size could place the ring somewhere between $2 million and $3.4 million,’ he told Cosmopolitan, adding: ‘Once you reach this level, even relatively small differences in quality can translate into enormous differences in value.’
Who is Christy Lee?
Christy Lee is a stylist. She studied Strategic Design and Management at Parsons School of Design, according to Gabriel NY, and has worked with brands including Bloomingdale’s and Retrofête. Her portfolio lists Brooks Nader and Bella Thorne among the celebrities she has dressed for high-profile events.
The job puts her in the front row at fashion week, and she and Post Malone made rare joint appearances at New York Fashion Week earlier this year, attending the Khaite and Sandy Liang shows. For a couple who have kept a deliberately low profile, those appearances counted as going public.
Post Malone, 31, is a Grammy nominee, according to People. He goes by ‘Posty’ to his fanbase and scored a major hit with ‘I Had Some Help.’ The ‘Congratulations’ hitmaker has previously kept the details of his personal life away from the cameras as much as possible, and by all accounts Christy Lee operates the same way.
The couple’s engagement comes after an on-off stretch that, until recently, looked like it might have ended for good.
