Northumbria University Sport Central
Sport Central is a stunning £30m state of the art facility situated in the heart of Newcastle city centre.
Our range of first class facilities include 25m Swimming Pool, 12m Climbing Wall, over 150 station Fitness Centre, 3,000 seat arena, Golf Simulator, Squash courts and much more. We also offer an extensive Group Exercise Programme with exciting new classes for 2012/13 such as Les Mills Body Combat and Body Pump and Bokwa.

Northumbria University Sport is committed to not only offering students and staff world class sporting opportunities but also the general public and have a range of activities for you to get involved in. We have recently introduced sport sessions, an opportunity to take part in 2 hour coached sessions per week which run from October to March in sports such as Cheerleading and Powerlifting. Public membership starts from just £120.
Northumbria University Sport also offers a Start Develop and Advance Programme which represents a broad and exciting blend of a number of sports for you to try including Climbing, Golf and Swimming to name a few. More information on this Programme can be found here.
Northumbria students, staff and the public can also benefit from the opportunity to gain qualifications in a wide range of sport related courses. Working in partnership with a large number of National Governing Bodies, you can get involved in a range of sports qualifications at Sport Central and Coach Lane. As well as the traditional qualifications such as Basketball and Rugby, Northumbria University Sport offers courses in strength and conditioning and dance. Further information can be found here.

We’ve recently launched our Sport Academy which gives children aged 8-18 years old the chance to engage in fun sporting activities including multi sport camps, climbing sessions and birthday parties. Find out more information here.
