Newburn Activity Centre
Newburn Activity Centre is just fifteen minutes away from Newcastle City centre on the banks of the River Tyne in the beautiful Tyne Valley.
At Newburn we offer a wide variety of indoor & outdoor activities that will appeal to novices and experts, children and adults, individuals, groups, families or schools.
Our indoor facilities boast a climbing wall, the Impulse fitness suite with it’s supporting fitness classes, and a range of traditional activities from badminton to football to trampolining.
Oh, and the famous Elswick Harriers athletic club and Newburn Judo Club also train here as well!
If getting wet is your thing then there is no better place to be. On offer are all manner of water sport activities including bell boating, kayaking, canoeing & raft building. We also have two speedboats that can accommodate wheel chairs for visits to Newcastle quayside or fast runs from our ramp.
We have an exciting and adventurous three tiered softplay facility for under-eights, providing great fun and creative explorative play.
Haven’t got your ‘sea legs’? Then why not hire a bike to explore our virtually traffic free country park?
If you feel like you need to get away from the bustle of the City, we can also provide overnight accommodation in our Log Cabin at nearby Kielder water. Here you could either just choose to relax or alternatively get involved in all manner of adventurous activity from waterfall jumping to navigational skills.
We also have a fleet of mountain bikes that can be hired by the hour on an individual or group basis.
Whatever you choose to get involved in there are fully qualified & ever-reliable instructors on hand to help with anything from exercise programmes, dietary advice or just a chat to keep you motivated. And if you are on your own we have lots of clubs that offer “buddies” and other social activity.
The best news of all is that getting active at Newburn Activity Centre wont cost you a fortune.
