Being a Healthy Living Centre we aim to help our users find ways of keeping themselves and their families away from the doctors. Being healthy isn't all about being physically well though, it can also mean being mentally well too.
We try to help those under stress help themselves to find ways to deal with those stresses; be it job advice with the Newcastle Employment Action Team, debt advice with the Credit Union or problem advice with the Citizens Advice Bureau.
Taking more exercise can help with stress too and we encourage everyone to either use our small, friendly gym or to join in our classes. We're just right for those starting to exercise be they big or small, fat or thin, old or young!
Our Fitness Coordinator will help you make the most of your time in the gym by talking with you about what it is you'd like to do and then helping design a programme to help you make that happen.
Exercise is also very good for people with health problems such as high blood pressure or diabetes. You can ask your GP or Practice Nurse to send you down and see us as part of our Exercise on Referral Programme.
We're focused on families and welcome little ones at the Parent and Toddler group whilst from two and a half the kids can attend play group here until they're old enough for primary school. At that stage we have activities for kids after school and in the holidays.
