Bus: The park is on main bus routes, with bus stops on Heaton Road, Heaton Park Road and Warwick Street, all within a short walking distance from the park.Metro: The nearest Metro station is in Byker, approximately one mile south of the park.
Heaton Park is situated to the north east of the city and is very popular with local residents.
The park contains a wide range of, mature trees and shrubs as well as an ornamental grass area and seasonal flower beds. There is a bowling green with a terraced pavilion which has refreshments for sale during the summer months and a large informal playing field suitable for frisbee and ball games.
