Being able to swim opens doors to a whole range of other activities from a trip to the waterpark, waterpolo, synchronised swimming, diving or even Octopushy…a sort of underwater hockey!
Swimming is a whole body workout that gets your heart and lungs going. Regular swimming can burn calories. Its great for all ages and as the water takes some of your bodyweight – its great for sore joints and arthritis, or pregnant women. Some people with asthma or other breathing difficulties find the pool a good form of exercise as the moist air helps making breathing more comfortable.
