Street Dancing

Street dance describes a form of dance that’s evolved away from traditional dance studios and, instead, developed in urban spaces such as streets, schools and nightclubs. These dances are often very personalised, improvised and social, often encouraging interaction with spectators and the other dancers.

Street dance is commonly used as a generic term for many of the hip hop and funk dance styles originating from the USA, for example, breakdance, popping, and locking. Street dance is very cool, good fun and a great workout!

Elswick Park is situated to the west of the city and has recently been improved with new pathways and entrances. The park includes all weather sports pitches, tennis courts, and children's play areas. Elswick Leisure Pool is situated within the park grounds.
