Roller Disco
Roller Disco has seen a recent resurgence in popularity due in most part to the eighties music and fashion revival. Roller disco is performed on roller boots, which consist of a sturdy boot with a metal plate attached to the sole with two fixed axels and four wheels. Distinctive features of roller boots are the rubber stoppers on the toes and the brightly coloured boots.
Roller disco is great fun and a very sociable activity. It usually takes place indoors on a hard flat surfaced dance floor or hall, where there is plenty of room to dance or simply skate.
Skating of any kind has many health benefits; it is an excellent aerobic activity for people of all ages. Muscle endurance and strength will improve, flexibility will increase with a little help, body composition will change due to calories burned, cardio and respiratory endurance will increase, balance and coordination.
