Body Toning and Sculpting

Any exercise aimed at toning your body needs something to provide resistance for your muscles to work against. You can use hand-held weights to provide resistance although water bottles or even tins of food can have the desired affect.

Body toning exercises consist of multiple repetitions with relatively small weights to exercise the muscle and burn calories.  Performing resistance exercises is one the best ways of burning calories, the more muscle you have the more calories you burn throughout the day.

If you've not been exercising your muscles recently it's best to start with a weight that feels "very easy" and build up gradually from there.

Body Sculpt is a form of exercise that is usually low-impact and non-aerobic but that focuses on toning particular areas of the body, as well as core strength.   Equipment used in Body Sculpt classes will usually include weight bars, exercise bands, or dumbbells.  Body Sculpt classes are great for anybody that wants to firm up.
