Balboa
Named after the peninsula of Balboa on the Californian coast, this partner dance is performed in a close embrace, with an upright posture, and is usually led with a full body connection. During the dance the dancers turn and move as a couple.
Although danced to a wide variety of tempos, the balboa is well suited to fast music as it involves lots of steps that take up just a small space.
Balboa has become very popular in the UK in recent years, and offers Lindy-hoppers a less tiring way of dancing to the fast stuff!!
