Aikido

Aikido is a Japanese martial art. The word Aikido is often translated as "the Way of unifying (with) life energy” or as "the Way of harmonious spirit." It is essentially a non-violent discipline, encouraging harmony of mind, body and spirit and the avoidance of confrontation. Force is never opposed by force, Aikido is performed by bending with the motion of the attacker and redirecting the force of the attack rather than opposing it head-on.

Practicing Aikido regularly can have long lasting benefits improving both health and fitness. It is a multi layered discipline with a spiritual side that compliments the physical side, what’s more, you can define the balance that appeals to you the most. When practiced regularly it will assist in developing a fitter, suppler and stronger body with improved flexibility, reflexes and reactions.
